Cadia Valley Operations, also known as Cadia Mine, is the largest gold mine in the Southern Hemisphere. Owned and operated by Newcrest Mining Limited, it consists of both open-cut and underground mining operations, making it one of the largest and most substantial mining projects in Australia. Located 23 kilometres from Orange, the project has a history of environmental transgressions.
